I was wondering whether Groupee allows avatar size limit and file size limit for avatars? Like a 100 by 100 avatar size, and 250kb maximum of avatar file size. and whether where such setting could be found. thanks

You can limit the size of avatars in the eve control panel:

Eve > Members > Profile Settings > Avatar Size Limits

Avatar size is limited by pixels width and length, but keeping the size at 100 x 100 should keep the KB size down as well.

anyway, I'm talking of a .gif file size. coz we use groupee for our basketball forum. and being so, we do expect some posters using .gif videos that could even be as big as a 1mb video. so, in order to prevent this, is there anyway we can like set a limit for the file size?

Good point. I hadn't thought of the animated gif issue.

I've submitted this as a suggestion to our developers.

In the meantime, I'd suggest posting an avatar file size limit in your Terms of Service or board rules. Even though it's not foolproof from a technology standpoint, some of your users will comply with your wishes.

You can also turn the ability to use avatars on and off for each member, if someone is consistantly abusing this feature.
