Can a form be placed inside a thread?

Is there a way to collect information from visitors without them having to leave the boards natural navigation, a form within a post that once filled out would only be seen by the the receivier.

Something like a preformatted PM with text boxes etc. would be nice.

Is there a board out there already doing this?

Inside a thread? If HTML is enabled I would think you could post a form.

David; thanks for responding. My thinking is simply this;

Why should a visitor leave the structure of the board? I would love it if someone could visit a forum called feed back and submit a private form to me.

I just submitted a request to support request and I noticed that the form is a .php form located outside the board’s structure. I actually ended up outside the forum and had to nav my way back in.

Having the ability to pre-format a PM would be killer!

Hi-

There is no reason why someone couldn't code a front end for the form in html to do what you want. There would need to be a php script of some kind to to do something with the information and whoever wrote the script could send the user back to the forum page once the action was completed. At this time we do not have this kind of feature. You might check on groupeedev.com to see if anyone there has developed something along those lines.

Just as a side note, both myself and David are with Groupee, which is what I assume you meant when you asked if Eve was listening....

Deni; don't let me get your goat; I'm just try to spark conversation. Once I saw how many posts’s David had I deleted that comment.

I don't understand why these features are not already built into the site or why these things have not been developed and posted for us to use.

Not just forms, calendars and shout boxes would be nice. Hell if anything develop a bunch of apps and charge us for them. Trust me today I would pay.

The whole idea of the board format is to communicate within its structure. Why such a basic form is not already posted and available for me to use is strange.

Go the extra mile! Plus it! As Mr. Walt Disney used to say.....

Hi Stan,

No "goat gotten" here :0) but thanks for the clarification! You might check out groupeedev.com, I know they already created a shoutbox and a calendar add-on and I know they have more, perhaps they will have what you are looking for.
