Is there a way to automatically sign someone up after they subscribe without having them confirm by email? ie cancel the second part of the double opt in?
If not is there a way to modify that confirmation email? It's too buzzcast centric. Even though it mentions the name of the list they have subscribed to I think the bizzcast branding is going to confuse people. Any ideas? |

Right now, the way buzzcast works is intended to prevent spam (unsolicited commercial email). One of the ways to do that is to provide a double opt-in, to ensure that the subscriber truly wants to receive the email. That protects the subscriber and protects you, the sender, from charges of spamming.
The confirmation email isn't customizable at this point, and part of the reason it is buzzcast-centric is to demonstrate to the subscriber that a neutral third-party is processing their subscription---kind of a feeling of protection again. I do see your point about confusion, and as we improve/upgrade the buzzcast product in the future, I would see more customization as one of the areas for improvement. |

What happened to your double opt-in?
I have been repeatedly spammed by one of your customers (www.pengeparty.com) because someone subscribed an address at my domain to their list at Buzzcast. There was no confirmed opt-in protection so I'm still receiving their (your?) spam. Despite writing to PengeParty several times they still haven't unsubscribed me, even though those emails were acknowleged. This reflects just as badly on Buzzcast as it does on PengeParty. |

I'm sorry that you appear to have been the target of bad behavior through our buzzcast system. If we can verify that the customer is indeed spamming, that violates the terms of the agreement and he/she is subject to removal from our service.
People who use buzzcast can, in fact import lists into their account (which is a key functionality for legitimate users). However, this does open up problems when we encounter folks who want to use it for unethical purposes. Unfortunately, all we can do in that case is stop the service when we have it reported to us. |

Not true, you can automatically confirm all the addresses in an imported list by mailing them a standard confirmation notice without the list manager's intervention.
This makes your system entirely useless to spammers without damaging the functionality for legitimate users. |
