What happens if a subscriber tries to respond when the list is set to "ignore subscriber replies?"
It looks like the subscriber has no indication that their email is not being received by anyone. Is this true? Is there any way to be notified if someone tries to reply? Thanks. |

Here's how I understand it (though I am sure that Brett will lay down the final word):
If you choose to ignore subscriber replies, then the email will be sent out to the list as coming from 'mailbot@buzzcast.com'. If a user replies to the message, then the message goes to the mailbot, which will reply with something like this: "Hello - it would appear that you have sent a reply to mailbot@buzzcast.com - this is an unmonitored alias...". It then proceeds to explain how to unsubscribe (if that was the users intent by replying). If you choose not to ignore replies the mail will be sent out from your Reply-To address (e.g. webmaster@yoursite.com). Then if a user replies it goes directly to you. There is no way for buzzcast to notify you if you have Ignore Subscriber Replies enabled because the mailbot doesn't know which list (or campaign) the user it replying to and in turn, who to notify about it. Afterthought: If your web host supports it, you might want to setup an auto-responder address such as 'mailbot@yourdomain.com' and use that as your Reply-To address. Then set Ignore Subscriber Replies to no and whenever someone replies to a campaign your auto-responder will reply with its own customized text. That way you should also be able to keep up with who is replying. Steven Benitez Infopop Enthusiast |

Steven,
You are correct - as an added 'under the hood' peek irrespective of how you set your subscriber replies if something bounces - meaning that the mail address was bad or a variety of other conditions are met - it will always go to mailbot@buzzcast.com so that we can set that email address to 'inactive' automatically.
