That seems like it's fake, why do you have so many?

Years of people coming and registering simply to try out the software, or ask a couple questions and be on their way adds up pretty fast. Believe me, I've sat through the load to see the member list, they're all real. Wink

This board has been around since '97 or '98. We've sold a lot of products to a lot of customers in that time. And they have customers who need help too. Then there are the people that register, make one or two posts, then don't come back for 6 months... forget thier registration and register again....

39k is actually low. Back when we were on UBB.classic I twice pruned members for a total of just over 10k members deleted.

Hello,
I think it's about time that you were asked to move over to a dedicated server. Wink

I thought that number would actually be higher.
My boating forum currently has over 16,100 registered members with about 50 new registrations daily.

The first year or so of operation I actually allowed guests to post without registering. I imagine this number would have been much higher if those who simply came to visit were actually forced to register as well.

And no, I'm not moving to a dedicated server!

I think Dave used to prune members from the old Scriptkeeper community (which was integrated in here when we put the forums together), otherwise the number would be a lot higher. It's possible that Rick used to prune the old wwwthreads community as well (which is also integrated here).
