Okay, I am tired of using yahoo and lycos website builders and I want to by something, like dreamweaver. Before I spend money to buy the software, someone please tell me what is the best program to buy. My html skills are intermediate, I don't want anything to sophisticated. Is dreamweaver the only one out there, becuase that is all I seem to hear about. Thanks for you answer in advance. :hula
Also what's a good program to make your own graphics or is that included in dreamweaver?

I use dreamweaver and love it. However there are lots of others out there I'm sure the other folks here can tell you about. Dreamweaver itself doesnt do graphics, but you can get a bundled version with Fireworks that does a pretty good job. The downside on dreamweaver is price, its not cheap.

Check out Download.com @ http://download.com.com/3150-2048-0.html?tag=dir

For a bunch of html editors there you can try out and whichever one you like you can purchase.

The two most famous ones that I have heard of are Dreamweaver and also HotDog. I remember using HotDog many years back and it did a really good back then.

Now days I stick to editing my html in Notepad or CuteHTML. But all the html I deal with is pretty basic with no need for designing html.

EDIT: Also I just noticed another topic in this forum you might want to read discussing the same thing: http://community.infopop.net/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=729094322&f=8243001105&m=5383035217

Good luck in finding a good program Smile

Homesite is WAY better for pretty much anything over Dreamweaver, especially if you know HTML already. Same company though, (macromedia). It's interface is really slick and is doesn't stick in random code like Frontpage is known to do.

Emerald Girl:

I strongly suggest you get ADOBE GO LIVE. I have been using it for years. Very reliable, stable, very user-friendly, very expensive, but worth it. I know Dreamweaver uses that wish they had gone the Go live route but they have their money invested in dreamweaver so have to stay with it.

Of course, everyone has their preferences.
