Or is there anyway to upgrade my UBB.X to another infopop forum that would have all of that built in?

UBB.classic has a Community Directory (member list) but UBB.x does not. I'd recommend sticking with .x though. Hopefully the feature you're looking for will be added soon.

Steven,
Do you know when this might happen?

No, this is not a feature that Infopop has announced at all. However, it has been requested before, it exists in one of their other products, and I think it would fit in nicely with their new eve platform.

Only time will tell.

How would you want it to browse? Just a big alphabetical list? A search? Email me and I can create a script for you that will do what you are asking for...

See http://www.singletrack.net/memberlist.php for an example. I can show any fields you want to see and sort on any as well.

Hey that's cool. What other types of scripts do you have?

A bunch. I made a top ten member list just for fun. See http://www.singletrack.net/members.php

It shows the top ten members by; post count, visit count, page views. It can also be sorted by those columns to show the top 10 in order for each category. I've had some members ask for a way to find other members when they can't remember their name etc. I was thinking if I add a custom field to a member profile and ask a particular question I could do various things. For instance, I could put a "include me in member phonebook" and state them to leave it blank if they don't want to be in the "phonebook" or enter 'y' or 'yes' if they do. My site is about mountain biking and often people want to contact each other to go ride. So, a protected script could allow members to see a list of people and their phone numbers. Just an example. I took all of my trail and other site data and put it into my database, the same one eve stores all its data. I just made new tables and so far no problems. I've been programming for over 10 years but I've picked up PHP pretty well and could just about pull any sort of info out of the database that you wanted.

We are planning on trying to get Member directories into one of the next few releases. Keep your eyes peeled for that bad boy.
