It would be nice, if as the administrator, if we could control which fields could be searched through 'Buddies'. I can see that the point of 'Buddies' is to search by someone's name, but in the case of our organization, Doctors Without Borders, members don't necessarily know other member's names, and it would be nice if they could search by region or countries members volunteered in the field...

The members list will help but you are correct the search for buddies is restricted to names only.

It if were broadened it would have to be public fields only, of course.

I wish members could search by location to find other members that lived in the same town.

At some point I am sure we will enhance the search functionality so that the site will be able to control what fields are searchable, or perhaps just automatically alow users to search by the public fields.

But currently there are no plans that I am aware of to enhance this. Just something I can see happening in the future.

The Location field is public and viewable on every post. I just wish that one field could be added to the search. That would help so much on both of the eve sites I admin.

I understand that you have a lot going on, but I hope you will consider adding this option soon (a few months?).

Infopop rocks! Eve sites really are the best forums on the net, IMO.
