The Go button provides access to several area of the web site, including the forums and chat. It would be nice if we could add more links to this Go button.

My forums are at oakhurstforums.com
On my go button, for example, I would like to add a link to "Oakhurst Home Page" along with the "Oakhurst Forums" and "Oakhurst Chat" options. The link to the home page would go to my other domain... oakhurstonline.com

A very good idea but suprisingly tough to implement in the current design. The current "go" button grabs its info for links from a portal information node. I can see ways to include the site home as listed in your control panel but custom links -- a tough one.

This is on an idea list now and I'll continue to think if there are easy ways to add what you want througha bit of cut & paste code.

sounds like creating a new location for the current links would make the most sense, then symlinking the current location to the new somehow so that when the script goes through the new "directory", it sees the old too. then users can add their personalized links and the software doesn't have to be rewiritten to move the old links location, just the part that creates the go menu.

if this is done, I could even see user customized menus too through another extention of it up a level

Great comments flyingember! Adding a new menu for "Other Site Links" would be very cool!

I think a better implementation would be a section in the Master Settings to set a few (maybe up to 3) custom Go Locations.

Basically it would have two input fields pr custom location. One would be the URL, the other would be the text to link.

Than it should be a simple XSL change to use the new settings. That would be the simplest solution, and the most flexible.

but that limits you to a certain number.
