OK, so I have a winner on my board as I am sure that most everyone else has a few on theirs also.

I would like to possibly ban the member, but they can just sign up with another account and wreak hacov. I don't want to ban a block of IP addresses because I don't want to risk losing some of the members from that area.

What I would like to do is this.

I want to be able to edit the posts where he makes such stupid and arrogant comments so that in the end he comes out looking like the idiot...more than he already does. Nothing drastic, simply misspelled and incorrectly used words.

Well, the 'edited by' will show up when you do that. I wouldn't recommend that as a tool.

I assume you believe he uses a dynamic IP, and that's why you don't want to ban the IP?

Do you approve all registrations? If not, you might consider doing that on a temporary basis, until he gets tired of you and goes away.

You might check out this thread, where other admins discuss various ways of controlling these kinds of issues.

You might also consider moderating that individuals posts. That way you can prevent the really bad ones from ever being posted.

never thought about moderating the users posts. I am all on the side of freedom of speech, but when it becomes arrogant and I take offense to some stuff mentioned, I am sure that others are also and he is not even directing it towards me.
