Because the bulletin board is not a fully fuctional database, and the way you input information is very important to allow searches, I was wondering if it is possible to program pull down menus on certain of the customized fields and the user title, so that there is less margin of input error.

Could you give a use case example of what you are talking about.

This is to make it easier for the administrator to do searches... for example in the MSF profile, the user title needs to be filled in as one of the following:
Assoc Member - central
Assoc Member - western
Assoc Member - qc
Assoc Member - atlantic
Expat non member - central
Expat non member - western
Expat non member - qc
Expat non member - atlantic
General Public

For now I have been typing them in, but if I have made any typo errors, search results (which I use to send mass emails)will be skewed. If the user title field was a pull down menu with these options then there would be no worries about typos. Right now, unless you go into each profile, it is difficult to catch typo errors, particularly because we have no control over which fields appear in the search results. In the previous bulletin board, the user title was part of the search results which made things easier for me. But there are some custom fields that would be great to have as a pull down menu as well. Currently the state/provide field is the only pull down menu in the profile.

The only way that I can think of to do what you want is with Custom XSL. I am sure if I am wrong I will be brutally flogged and sent away in shame *grin*.

The only sites that can use custom XSL are dedicated hosting sites and higher (Clustered)

I have been looking for something like this, as well. For the location input area, it would be nice to specify a few areaa to choose from.

In my forums, it would be nice to ask something like this...
Where are you from?
Then get a pulldown menu...
