I'd really like to spice up my forums because it looks quite "average" at the moment.
I've seen a few Eve-platformed forums that look quite nice. Is it at all possible to create a guide that would show us how to create more futureistic looks? Thanks |

Hey, LiverpoolFC
Sorry there wasn't a reply to this until now. A hard-copy guide would be difficult to implement because we don't troubleshoot custom HTML implementations, which are what the communities you mentioned are most likely using. However, if you have a specific feature in mind, it's possible there's already a discussion about it in the "Resources" section of the forum: http://support.evecommunity.com/eve/forums/a/cfrm/f/5553065413 Paul Gude Groupee Guide |

Liverpool,
If you would like to investigate customizing your forums on your own I can easily tell you how the sites accomplish advanced looks. They leverage the Custom HTML section of the style settings to add HTML to the top and bottom of each page. Wrapping the forums in their own HTML and adding their own branding, navigation, and content. By wrapping the forums in HTML you can accomplish some pretty dramatic changes, adding content to the right, top, left, bottom or right of the forums themselves. Beyond this basic explanation its just a matter of knowing HTML and learning how to do the more advanced formatting and CSS that is available through HTML. I can recommend w3schools for learning HTML, Javascript and CSS. The site can be found here: http://www.w3schools.com/ They have some great resources for learning all of the basics. Once you get those down I would recommend that you start dissecting the HTML of sites that you like to learn how they do what they are doing. A fast way to learn something is to reverse engineer something that already exists. Hope this helps, Jonmark Weber Developer Groupee, Inc. |
