hi jenny:
in your Groupee Web Services Control Panel, go to Advanced>>Domain Pointers and set up a pointer by adding joinphila.com to the Source Domain field. then click "Add". ****************** Kate Thaete Groupee Guide - Virtuoso Groupee, Inc. |

That is how I have it setup but if you go to www.joinphila.com it takes you to a site that says this : "The SSL/TLS-aware Apache webserver was successfully installed on this website."
and a bunch of other stuff... |

hi jenny:
i'm sorry - i forgot that you have to uncheck the "create as an alias" box when setting up the pointer. i made this change for you, and it's working correctly now. thanks, kate ****************** Kate Thaete Groupee Guide - Virtuoso Groupee, Inc. |

While I'm not an expert on this, I think that the domain pointer actually redirects you to a new URL while the alias just creates a sort of mask for the original URL.
I think the aliases don't work for shared customers because of the way the domains are set up, which is why the domain pointer is the way to go Like I said, however, that's just my basic and perhaps flawed understanding. Anyone with a better idea is free to correct me. Paul Gude Groupee Guide |
