When "Text Only Format" is checked it cuts the checked the Number of topics to show down to five. This is a bug

I take back what I said about RSS readers ...

The RSS 2 feed URL is

http://globalyeshiva.com/eve/ubb.x?a=ci&ci_id=8341041211&feedType=rss2

Anything shorter will not work. So if your reader is trying to validate that short version it is somehow broken. == perhaps unable to read the &.

So what should I do? It appears that all the readers try to validate the shorter version.

Get a different reader .... Smile

There are many. My favourite is the 'Live Bookmarklets' built into the FireFox Browser. With it I simply click my bookmarks to see instantly what is new.

1. How do you use it? I loaded my rss url into the address bar but that just gives me the code.
2. does it require an extention?
3. Is the problem with the reader or with the infopop rss. I am getting these problems from rss directories which I appy to. I cant tell them to change their rss reader.

Live bookmarks work great for me now after the latest build Smile

It still doesn't work with the FireFox Sage plugin though.

Hmm.. odd, I can't get firefox to pick up the live bookmarks on my RSS feeds. For example, in my test forum, I pasted the RSS links for one of my content islands, and FF doesn't give me the little orange icon at the bottom indicating there are feeds.

But I come here to this thread, and that orange icon does show up. I'm at a loss Confused

The orange icon is a special tag that must be included in the HTML in order to automate things. I pasted it into this forum style.

Otherwise to add a link manually, FF -> Bookmarks -> File -> Manage Live Bookmark

Eliyahu -- I think you need to spend some time learning about RSS feeds and how they can be used. They are not opened in browsers via the URL. Rather an *RSS reader* calls these URLS from time to time and presents you with the information from them. You do not read the RSS feed directly.

Some RSS readers are built *into* browsers but the RSS feeds are not the same as a web page.

http://blogspace.com/rss/readers

is a good intro. Take some time with any modern RSS reader and try out the examples they come with. Quickly you will see where to paste in a link to an Infopop RSS feed.

A very good way to learn is to go to http://www.mozilla.org/ and use their search for "live bookmarks"

There are many articles there that express things far better than I can.

If you are using Firefox on this page you can look in the bottom right corner for an orange icon. Click it to add a live bookmark. You can then see them by clicking the "bookmarks" link on the top line of the browser.

My firefox had a bug in it! I removed it and re-downloaded and now the live bookmarks works great. Sorry, and thank you for all your patience.

I noticed that some feeds show a logo and have a blurb about the company when you click on the the first feed in the list. They also have a logo in the main feed list in the RSS reader. Do you know anything about this?

I would also like to see a teaser for each feed. Are you planning to implement this feature?

I think we'll be enhancing the RSS feeds as we go. We've included only the basic items but the spec for RSS2 includes quite a few cool things like images and company info.

One thing I'd like to see as well is a 'teaser' but there's no promise of whether or when it may be included.

We're interested in how people use the RSS and what they find they need so your questions are appreciated.
