Thanks for your previous replies.... I'm starting a new topic, because I have a better idea now of what I'd like to do.
Right now, only members have any access to my forums. I would like to create a public section, but keep my current "members only" forums the way they are. What's the best way to do this? Thanks Ryan |

hi ryan:
the only way to do this would be to grant guests general access to the UBB.x, and access to your 'public' forums. this means that the guests will see the titles of the forums they don't have access to, but they won't be able to enter the forum... is that what you're looking for? ****************** Kate Thaete Groupee Guide - Virtuoso Groupee, Inc. |

Generally if you are trying to increase the ammount of memberships on your site the best thing to do is to allow guests to view the forum and the posts, but in order to create topics or replies you have to be registered.
That should make people WANT to register on your site... Jonmark Weber Developer Groupee, Inc. |

You can set these permissions from The Eve Control Panel in the following location.
Members > Permission Snapshot > Forums > Personal Permissions. Within this area you will see a list of permissions that you can check or uncheck for guests and members. Essentially you want to allow Guests to View items but not Edit or Post Replies. Hope this helps Thanks, ----- Chris Groupee Labtech |
