Hi, it's been a few years now I've been using Eve as my website's forum. I created my own display layout in order to integrate it as seamlessly as possible with my website and I have become happy with the result.

However, before some recent update, my Chat used to have exactly the same layout as I had created for the message boards. Now, for some reason, the Chat has only 6 possible preset skins and no possibilty to customize it according to the rest. What happened? This looks like a step back...

Now, the Chat not only doesn't match the website as it doesn't even match the forum layout...

What's the solution? Am I missing something?

Any custom styles that you have created should be available in Chat. I just tested this on my own forum.

Although you may already have done this, here are the steps you'd need to take to access them:

1) Go to your eve control panel and follow this path:

Eve > Display > Assignments

2) To the right of "Chat: Module Wide," you should see a drop-down menu that allows you to select which style you want to use. Any custom styles should be included in that list.

3) Once you select a style, click the "Update" button to save your changes.

If you feel a custom style was missing from the "Chat: Module Wide" drop-down menu, check to see if it's present in the "Forums: Module Wide" drop-down menu. If it's not there, check and see if the style is listed here:

Eve > Display > Settings

If it isn't there, you will most likely need to create a new style.

If the style exists, but for some reason doesn't appear in the drop-down menu or isn't being applied correctly, please fill out a support ticket:
