It's our pleasure to announce to you that version 1.2.17 is being released to your site(s) this week. Beginning Wednesday, February 14th we will be updating all sites. The release is expected to take up to 3 days to update all sites, thus if your site isn't updated on Wednesday, don't worry. There is no expected downtime required in order to complete this update, so your site will not go down during the update.

So, a few notes about 1.2.17 -

Version 1.2.17 is targeted at keeping eve fast, scalable, and up-to-date. Very few of the changes to eve are visible, with almost all of the work being done "under the hood" to prepare eve to support new features coming in version 1.3 and in the future. Most of these updates or changes are related to the base platform programming and operating system interaction; these will not be reflected in the version notes that are posted. What is posted is however, is a list of small (and some not so small) changes that touch you or your users on a day-to-day basis as you continue to use eve.
