Re the 1.2 "Topic list sorted alphabetically" feature.

Will this be an Admin-only or Member-implemented feature?

IOW, will the site Admin determine if all Members see the topic list sorted alphabetically, or will Members be able to toggle the alphabetical listing feature on/off on their own?

Hi CJ,

This feature is going to be an admin-only feature as of the 1.2 release. Users will not be able to configure the topic ordering on their own.

I hope that helps Smile

If I may ask, what was the reasoning for that decision?

Hi Aaron-

It is an admin-centric feature. Community admins are the ones that determine how they want their content arranged.

Hi Eluyahi-

No official date has been set yet. We are still in beta testing. Assuming all continues to go well in testing, however, our plan would be to start deploying 1.2 to customers sometime in the next 2 weeks. Note that not all customers will be upgraded at the same time. The deployment process may take up to one week, once it begins.

Once we have an official date, we will announce it here in the forums. Customers will also be emailed once we schedule deployment for each server.

lol, Mr. Design. We want to get 1.2 out ASAP, too, but we also want to make sure we catch and fix as many bugs as we can find first. Smile

Yep, I'd always rather wait a little longer and have a better product. Good luck with the bug zapping! Wink

I have been using a catche that someone from infopop gave me to help load my content islands faster. Will I still need to use this in 1.2?

You can still use it and it will help overall performance in very busy situations. However, we have made changes to CI that will improve performance.

Good news: we've set an official release date for version 1.2 for Monday, February 7th. This is subject to change if we discover some major bugs, of course, in the meantime.

The actual deployment schedule has not been finalized yet. It will take at least a week (possibly longer) to deploy this to all servers. You will receive an email notification when your particular server(s) are scheduled.

Does anyone think InfoPop is in financial arrears? I was told (and currently doing) when I became a subscriber that I could pay monthly, every six or even 12 months. Now I'm told I must pay six months in advance. Something doesn't smell right here. Any comments?

Hi Karajean-

I'm not sure I understand your post. We do not require 6 months payment for service- customers pay us monthly. I'm also not sure what this has to do with Eve 1.2. Smile I'd suggest you submit a support ticket if you have questions or need assistance with something.

You can also send me a private message if someone from our staff told you something that does not make sense to you.
