Hello,

I'm a newbie at this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any way to customize the groupee login?
I saw that you can add customize fields in the eve control panel. But is there a way to add a customize drop down box or say an opt-in check box for a newsletter? I would like for people to have the option to subscribe to our newsletter when they sign up for our community.

If not is there a way to disable groupee? And on that note, is there another registration/login script we can use?

The Groupee Login page is standard. You cannot change that

If you are using the build in eve mailer, there is an option on their profile for them to opt-in to Admin emails.

If not is there a way to disable groupee? To disable Groupee, you would need to file a Support Ticket. Do note, that that does come with an extra charge.

And on that note, is there another registration/login script we can use?eve has a built in Simple Authentication API which can be used by outside applicaitons. Check the Documents section for those

Ron is correct. However you might like a few background details.

Groupee is actually separate from your Eve site. That's why it isn't customizable.

You can find the pricing for our non-Groupee plans here. If you do decide to change your plan, you would be charged the difference in the setup fees, as well as the difference in the fee for the current month. Are you (or your members) having problems with Groupee?

Thanks Ron and Don.

We're not having problems with groupee, its just that we thought the login/registration was a customizable feature. We wanted to actually collect member information for our own database when users sign up.

We really wanted the login procedure to somewhat act like the one on this forum (which is powered by infopop) http://uk.playstation.com/user/forums.jhtml
(apparently they don't use groupee) Smile

Do you guys happen to know how they did that?

Thanks for all the help guys.

That has nothing to do with Groupee. Groupee is just a login/password system. Your eve community can still collect as few or as many fields as you want.

From your control panel, go to Eve > Members > Profile Settings.
Then look in Account Info, Misc Info, and Custom Fields to decide what fields to collect.

Note that custom fields are text fields, not textareas, radios, select boxes, or checkboxes.

You should still be able to get what you want. Smile

Hi liquid-

Steven is exactly right (as usual). Groupee only handles the authentication (login) for the user. THe actual user profile is still stored locally on your site. This means that you can control whatever profile fields you want to require.

Groupee sites have every registration setting that non groupee sites have (including the abilty to moderate new registrations, etc.). The only real difference is that the user has the benefit of using the same login across any participating groupee site.

Think of it this way: Groupee handles the actual login part, while eve (your local site) still handles the profile and registration settings.
