How does the verification process work and how can I customize it?

It seems that new registrats recieve an email from "support_bot@groupee.com" with subject "Registration Confirmation for Groupee" that contains the email verification link.

And THEN are sent another message from our community with subject "Registration Confirmation for <Our> Community" referring them to the previous email containing the link. (Not sure how this one was triggered?)

Is there any way to have the system ONLY send an email from OUR community that contains the verification link?

It seems like a large percentage of the verification emails from Groupee will be deleted or auto-sorted to SPAM folders.

Hi JayD

The Groupee network is a broad one, servicing thousands of sites. This is the reason for the 'general' Groupee email. Since it is Groupee-wide it can't be customized by you. There are some upcoming language options but again these are localization controls rather than changes to wording in your control panel.

Your own community welcome letter can be (and should be) customized. You make a good point about spam filters, of course; though filters that catch Groupee are as likely to catch your own Groupee based community!

Be sure to mention the need to check spam controls. This might make a very good FAQ to point to on your site or even within your community welcome email.

Both confirmation emails AND spam filters are now a fact of internet life that we must find ways to work with.

Suggestions for making it clearer are always in order.

Thoughts from others?

The main problem here is with Groupee emailing our members directly. Our members do not know who Groupee is and will not readily search for or easily click on an email from a site they do not want to directly access.

Using the Groupee registration system and services are great.. however, there must be a way to make this a more subtle process to the end user. Possibly send it using our site's From address...

Is this something that can be solved with a more expensive package?

Am I the only one here that has a problem with how this works???

We've had issues as well. Members are confused by the fact that they join and are approved, but then have to be approved by us.

They're confused by Groupee, and I've had several put their email as @groupee.com

I've found often too, until WE approve a member, they don't verify their email for the Groupee account.

I think a single step would be ideal. Or, as you said, the email verification message coming from our site, rather than Groupee.

I totally agree. Having users receive 2 emails is just confusing for them!
