We're gearing up to move our log-in process over to Groupee and I have some really basic questions just to clear up some thoughts in my own head.

1. The functionality to 'Link' old profiles on our site to new groupee IDs, is that provided by the Groupee registration, or do we need to do something to 'activate' that?

2. Are post counts/profiles site specific or common across all sites that use Groupee?

3. I'm assuming there's no way to mass convert our membership to Groupee, correct?

4. Will people w/ groupee ids that have never registered for our site appear as members on our site?

5. Other than the thread here, is there a comprehensive list of sites that use Groupee?

I think that's it for now. Thanks!

Sorry, thought of one more question.

If I currently don't have to log in each time I visit my site because I have 'remember me' (i.e., cookies on), what happens the first time I visit the site after it's been converted to Groupee?

These are great questions!

1) Nothing is needed on your end. Once the site is switched over to Groupee this field will appear in the community registration page. On the users initial Login, after the Groupee account creation, users will be taken back to the community registration page. On the registration page the user can associate their Groupee account with a pre-Groupee username.

2) All Site specific information remains site specific. This is one of the great things about Groupee. You can have one Logon ID & Password and yet your profile is unique for each site you join.

3) No, this would be nearly impossible as the users Groupee account will differ depending on what email address they wish to use.

4) No, people who have Groupee accounts but are not members will still need to register with your site just as new users do today in your pre Groupee state.

5) Not at this time. But possibly in the future the may be.

6) When a user first visits the site after conversion they will be prompted to login with a Groupee id or to create a new one.

Also if you ever have questions you can always submit a support ticket

Thanks,

Re: #3-- mass conversion is something we plan to add within the next 1-2 months. (We are currently making a number of enhancements to the Groupee registration system.)

Thanks Ted! I am working with Kim on this. I think we will wait until the new version of Groupee to do the changeover.
