It may be that the admin has banned all email addresses from a domain name, not just your address. For example, they may have banned all addresses that contain hotmail.com.
Alternately, they may have set it up so that only specific addresses or domains are allowed. For example, they may have it set to only allow registrations from aol.com, or only from john.q.public@aol.com. I suggest you try contacting the administrator or webmaster to clarify there registration settings. |

I strongly feel the word "banned" should be replaced with the word "blocked" in the EVE settings. The technical meaning of these terms is essentially the same, but you have to admit the emotional stigma is pretty intense with the word "banned." Here's what I mean:
As Don noted, a community's admin may have set the registration settings to allow only registrations from certain domains (blocking, say, hotmail addresses). But it's not as if each specific email address was "banned" by some all-powerful community leader. I have had some legitimate new members feel they were singled out during the registration process when they saw they were "banned" when in fact all they needed was some intervention from the community admin to gain full access. Instead of: This email address you listed has been banned from this community. Could you change the text to: The email address you listed has been blocked from this community. or simply: This email address has been blocked. |

Hello,
Those are very valid concerns and I would agree that banned does sound rather harsh. If you would like to change the wording, you as the site administrator already have the tools needed to update the terminology. Goto: CP -> Groupee Community -> Display -> Settings -> Wordlets tab From there you should be able to edit the default wordlet set and search for the wordlet you want to custmoize. From there its an easy process to just cusomize the wordlet to say whatever you want. Does that help? Jonmark Weber Developer Groupee, Inc. |
