I can't remember if it was Saturday morning or Sunday morning when was browsing the Support Forums and then got forwarded to a page that said the Groupee server was down, I tried to log-in to the community and got the same message. Was the Groupee server really down? What if I have paying members that pay to view content in a certain forum or participate in it? They'll have to wait for the Groupee sever to be running again? Is this going to be happening frequently?

I had a user email me and say it was down as well. They were trying to signup for a premium membership. I ended up just having them send the money to my paypal account for fear of losing the 'donation' and I manually gave them access later when it was back up.

Groupee was down for about a half hour early Sunday morning. We certainly are working to make sure this is a very infrequent occurence. We are also deploying new hardware for Groupee in the next two weeks, so that we have more redundancy built in.

It was down earlier. I tried to get on here and a few other places and got the "groupee is unavailable" message. I was able to get on my site, I guess because I had left a open window to it and the cookie was still valid. But when trying to login here, evedev.com or one other it said it was unavailable.

There was a short outage this morning around 7am PDT. Is this when you were experiencing the problems?

Hi Scott,

Thanks. Yes, we were aware of the problem. We are actively working to build a more robust, fault-tolerant hosting environment for Groupee to handle these type of failures seamlessly.

Nevermind...

I had IE open doing some testing and was logged in.

I had Firefox open also and was logged in. I logged out in Firefox to check something.

When I tried logging back in to Firefox I either got a Groupee error or it just wouldn't respond (/eve/login).

I checked IE and I was still logged in to Infopop but not my site.

I closed/restarted Firefox and things are fine now.

But...if I logout on a site do I logout of the site or Groupee?

Hi Scott,

Groupee-enabled Eve sites are completely sandboxed from each other. When you log in to an Eve site via Groupee, you are only being logged in to that Eve site. You aren't even being logged in to groupee.com. The only time you are logged in to groupee.com is when you explicitly go to groupee.com and click Login/Join. Thus, when you logout of an Eve site, you are only logging out of that Eve site, and any session you may have with groupee.com will remain. Make sense?

By the way, we've just updated groupee.com to the latest version of the servlet container software. We're hoping this eliminates the downtime that has been occurring as a result of a bug fix in the newer version of the software.
