Is there any way to customize the wordlets on the groupee login page for my community? My users have no idea what a groupee community is, so when new members see the initial logon/register page, it says
I have a groupee account I do not have a groupee account And it causes confusion. I would like to use the wordlets to change that wording but I tried that and nothing seemed to happen. Thanks |

The Groupee login page in on our site rather than yours so there are not wordlets for you to change. You'll be able to change languages but that's not what you have in mind. How can you make sure your user know about the Groupee login? One is to tell them. You can point to the software name "groupee" which appears in the URL and on every community page. It's kind of like seeing a VISA or Mastercard logo on a store front. It's a particularly powerful and safe login system that you use. Be sure as well to have a distinctive style selected for your registration and use a title graphic to assure people that they are still part of your community when they login via Groupee. Thanks Michael, but really, the Groupee login page is where the explanation should be and it's not there! That page really needs to be improved. It helps that now it looks more like our site, but still, I need a clearer way for folks to understand that if they've never registered with us before, that they should click on "I do not have a Groupee account." The likelihood of them belonging to another Groupee community is next to nil.
Maybe after Groupee gets more widely known, I can see your visa/mastercard analogy, but right now, most people I am dealing with won't have clue what Groupee is. I also understand why the page defaults to "I have a groupee account" to assist already registered folks from having to change it, but I'm dealing with a population of non-technical members who may not be Internet savvy or even message board savvy, so the login page really needs to be more user friendly. Thanks Mollywog. I can see your concern about first time users. It's a quandary. When someone arrives at the Groupee login page we know the site they have come from and can use the right style and title graphic; but we don't know whether the person has ever signed up or is just coming for a regular login. Believe me, if there are ways to make this process smoother we'll add them. We do want the VISA/Mastercard analogy to be a true one.
How about making a stickly topic in a prominent place called "Ready to Register? First Time Users." Point them to a 3 step process and remind them to use the "Remember Me" option. A screenshot or two will go a long way. My experience is that people who are rattled by online instructions do very well with a picture to guide them. Michael Farris<br/> Groupee |
