Hey everyone!

I am new to Groupee, though I have used and admin other forum products (mostly vbulletin). I have started setting up my forums and as I play around and read hear, I have noticed that to register for my board you have to double register (once for groupee, then for the forum).

Is there any way around that, or am I just stuck with it? Two follow on questions would be:

If I am stuck with it, if I wrote the code could I create a sigle registration page that would pipe the information to Groupee and then to my registration so that it appeared as one registration?

Or, could I create a web user and pass the login information through from my main website so that if my members get to the forums from my main site (http://www.ocsarts.net/alum), they wouldnt know that they were logged in to Groupee. (hope that makes sense..)

Thanks for the help, and Happy New Year!

Hi raisun,

Sites that are "Groupee Network-enabled" require first registering with the Groupee Network and then subsequently filling out any necessary profile information required by your site. There is no way to write a script to handle processing both forms at once. Groupee Network requires that all forms are submitted from the account.groupee.com domain, so you couldn't do anything to work around that requirement.

Similarly, all logins for the Groupee Network require going through the Groupee Network login pages. There isn't any way for you to bypass the Groupee Network registration and login screens (which, it seems, is ultimately what you are trying to avoid).

What about the process don't you like? There are hundreds of sites using this login system without incident, so I'm curious if there is something specific about it that isn't working for you.

Regards,

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the reply. I think it will work just fine. The reason for my comment was more from the standpoint that I am trying to make it as absolutely easy as possible for my members to find there way to the forums and get registered.

I dont dislike the process, and in fact it makes a lot of sense to me so I'll just work with it.

Thanks!
Ray
