I know more and more board will join the Groupee network, because it become standard for Eve platform now!

I can imagine how useful it is, as infopop website said:
"One of the reasons some people choose not to participate in a particular community is that they do not wish to take the time to register. Eve is integrated into the Groupee Universal Login System, which means that the Groupee Login will give them easy access to any participating site."

I totally agree with the above statment, but is still painful each time you need to fill in many profile question in each site you going to join.

For this reason, I'd rather see an exportable member file, that contains common profile info, like your signature, avatar, profile info, etc, and Display name etc., that we can save to our computer, and when you goto join at another message board, select the "Upload Info" and everything is transfered!

I understand the privacy issue... I guess Groupee never store people personal info, so using this method, Groupee doesn't store any of this info, it just provide a form to create a file that allow us to export our profile.

It's a good point. I've been having fun visiting Groupee sites as they come online and using my single-sign-on. Even though I've been working with Groupee for months, it's still quite cool simply to click login and know my login is good to go.

But I agree that it's slightly annoying to fill in the same display name and other required fields every time. It would be nice if there were a way to say 'fill in my usual' and I'll edit if I want. There'd still be required fields unique to that forum but most could already be there.

I'm not sure what the best solution is. Privacy vs convenience ...

Other thoughts from people now using the Groupee system at *multiple* sites?

I Kelvin, I agree. I think it would be nice to give Groupee users the ability to store common eve profile info and have them apply whatever fields are required to a particular site they join... so long as this was optional for them. We've discussed this as a future possibility.

I'd be interested in hearing feedback on this from others, though. Thanks for starting the topic.

As a site admin and forum user I would like the convenience of putting in some of my forum member info into my groupee account. Address, Avatar, Signature and some of the other common fields. Those are all common between boards and having to enter them each time doesn't make one login that much better. It would be nice to change address info or my signature at Groupee and have all sites I'm a member of reflect that but still have custom fields on each site. A simple 'do you want to share groupee info?' question could be asked for each site joined. A 'yes' streamlines the joining process...a 'no' would allow you to add whatever you wanted.
