I don't know where else to put this, but there seems to be a problem with people registering! Our forums are at: http://heartagram.infopop.cc/groupee

Who do I contact about this?

hi Carrie:

we may be able to help you right here: can you tell us what problem(s) new users are experiencing? and are you a user, or the admin?

thanks!
Kate

I am part of the admin team. What is happening is the link to create a groupee account doesn't seem to work. So they cannot register at all. Sometimes it only pops up a yellow screen with info about Groupee accounts, but on IE it does nothing. I have tried it in FireFox, IE, Netscape, Opera, Maxthon and the link will not lead people to the registration page.

Carrie, you might want to put in a support ticket so that we can look into the matter.

Any idea how many people are experiencing the problem?

About 5 different people have come to me with this error.

As I am only an admin to the site, I don't know all the required info for the support ticket (FTP etc.) since I didn't buy the services. I am only a helper. Warner Brothers bought the services, if i am correct.

I did send in a ticket in the questions area of support. I didn't know what else to do.

Also I just tried to sign up here testing it with FireFox and I cannot click on the

"Membership for this site requires a Groupee account."

example of what happens...

All that happens is what you see. No page pops up or loads where you can register a groupee account.

It happened on my heartagram forums and here. So this HAS to be a groupee bug! Right? Or could it be a popup blocker that is causing the problem? If that is the case...then maybe the registration shouldn't popup?

Ahhh.... I understand now. (I hope. Smile) I believe that's called a dialog box. It should ONLY appear when you hover your mouse pointer over the item that specifically has such info associated with it (usually a link or photo). In this case, the word "Groupee" in "requires a Groupee account" has the dialog box.

After reading your statements a few times, it sounds like people are clicking on that Groupee text, expecting it to take them to a page where they can get a Groupee account. Is that correct? Well, if that is the case, I'm afraid there is no bug, just a misunderstanding. You see, on that page, if you do not have a Groupee account, then you simply click in the radio button (circle) to the left of "I do not have a Groupee Account." When you do, the screen will change to reveal 4 input fields asking for your email address and password, as well as Remember Me and Terms of Service checkboxes. After filling in the fields and checking the TOS box, clicking the Join button will complete the process of getting a Groupee Login account, and take you to the community's registration page.

Does that clear things up? Or am I way off base?

Something that I find is odd is that I can only see the dialog box when using FireFox. It does not show up for me when using IE. (NOTE: It only shows up when I place the mouse pointer over the word Groupee.) That's something we'll need to look into.
