I need a better understanding of the capabilities of Groupee. The descriptions I've found on the website don't really explain what it can be used for.

When it is available, will I be able to use it as a login for ASP programs on our main slowtrav.com website? If so, how long will it be until it is available?

Background: We've been using the message board database for that purpose until the upgrade to Eve yesterday, which has apparently broken our perl script. Now I need to decide what to do about our inaccessible applications--do I try to fix the perl script, wait for Groupee, or set up a separate user database for the ASP applications?

I'm an ASP developer for slowtrav.com (our messageboard is slowtalk.com) and know nothing about perl. One of the Infopop guys wrote the script for me (discussed on this thread: http://community.infopop.net/eve/ubb.x?s=729094322&a=tpc&m=8933086996&f=1853060105). I've changed the paths, dbname, dbuser, password, etc. and it still doesn't work. I get this error:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@slowtalk.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Hi Chris- I see that Dave Drezer created teh perl script you are using. I can see if he can get it working for you again. The error message you are receiving is very generic, so it could be anything at this point. Please create a support ticket, if you not done so, put it to Dave Dreezer's attention.

You can fill out a support ticket here:

https://www.infopop.com/q/q.php

As for groupee, it will not be available for eve site for another month or so. Initially you will only be able to use it for your community, but that may change. For now, though, I would recommend just getting your existing perl script working again (or create a new ASP app if that is what you prefer).

Chris please do fill out a ticket. The problem is a small one, but there are a few things I need in order to fix it for you.

In the ticket please put
location of the script ( and name Smile)
password for the mysql user you've setup to access the db. You did create a mysql user, right? Wink

Make sure the have the ticket addressed to me and I'll get you squared away, then post the changes to the ticket for you.

You will need to use the table 'IP_USERS' instead of 'USERS'. Also, note that the structure of that table has changed.

Help! I'm trying to fill out the support ticket, but in spite of filling out all of the fields on the form, I get an error that says "You did not complete all required form fields, including: eve_login"

There are no other blank fields for me to fill in. I tried completely closing my browser and starting over, but I still can't submit the trouble ticket.

I don't know that I want to include the information here, since it includes our password. Any ideas what I should do?

Hi Chris-- that was a bug. I just fixed it for you, so you should be able to submit your ticket now. Sorry about that!

I thought that looked like a bug! Smile

Fortunately I left a browser sitting around with all the information in it, so I just submitted it.

Thank you.
