What are some of you doing to your members who have remained active and faithful in posting such that they've posted more than 500 posts, let's say? Do you give special people like these special titles? I'm trying to give some recognition and reward my members who are active by giving them special member titles. Any suggestion? You can even give them a custom title image. Add a lil extra thank you for being a loyal member. They are easy to add thru the control panel section for custom titles..

Thanks JC. Do you have specific examples? For members who've posted 300+ posts, let's say, what titles have you given them?

You could do lots of things. Little bronze/silver/gold medals or trophies, UBBDev.com does colored coffee beans, I think, all kind of stuff!

Another good way to recognize those who have been active on your boards beyond titles is to give them a gift.

Something I am about to impliment on my board and have seen done on a few others, is that any user who hits X# of posts (usually 100 on those I've seen it done on) gets a T-shirt.

Thanks everyone. All your suggestions were helpful. I've finally come up with my own set and I thought I'd share them with you:
1+ = Junior Member
31+ = Member
200+ = Honorary Member
400+ = Master
800+ = Don

Since our board has a lot to do with academics, I thought these were appropriate.

I have a question about the member titles. I only noticed that there are only slots for 5 slots to fill in for special titles. How do I set it up so that I can add more titles, and enter specific amounts of posts needed to gain that title.

I am using user stars to signify rank. So, for example, after 50 posts you get a second star. I haven't figured out how to do this automatically. Can someone help?

If you are talking about Ubb.x, the release 3.0.5 which is in beta test, gives you the option to add up to 20 member titles.

Is that what you're looking for?

Why not have after 300 posts, they can have their signature,

600 you give them their own custom title,

900 - let them have an avatar,

and and after they reach 1,200 set up a forum just for them.
