Our forums are getting a bit cluttered. We're looking to reogranize the forums a bit, do some consolodating. I've been looking at the threads and taking notes on what actually's being discussed vs what forum topics we've created.
Does anyone have any tips as far as do's/don'ts? Like, we have one main forum that only has one sub-forum. Seems pretty pointless to me, but the original mod likes it. Seems to me the whole point of a filing system is to group like items together, not create a seperate file for just one item. Anyways, tips? Comments? Rules? |

I took a quick peek, and it seems fairly well organized to me....one idea would be to consolidate the book forums into one "Book Discussion" category, with forums for each book. You would lose the separate subforums, but that might not be a big deal.
It also looks like you've got good traction going in most forums. One thing I did notice is that the contrast between the colors for your category and forum levels is pretty slight (at least on my laptop monitor). It might be easier on the eyes to increase the contrast just a tad. Overall, it looks like a thriving spot to me! |

Hee. That was EXACTLY what we were planning re : the book discussion forum. We're ditching a few obsolete ones (like the announcements -- we can always use that one pop up message tool for stuff like that). I just wanted to be sure we weren't breaking any cardinel un-written organization rules.
