I've created a small front end to the forums section and I'd like some opinions on it.

I think I was having net problems, it works fine from work.

Anyway, I assume you are talking about your forum introduction. I totally like it. I still remember the first time I stumbled into a UBB forum. I was totally confused and disoriented. I was so used to the old way. Had I have seen a page like yours it would have made a lot more sense. Hmmm... That might be a good addition to the UBB. Something that would be showed to the user if a certain cookie was not present. Sort of a "I see you have never been here before" page that only displays the first time you visit. After that a cookie stops the page from loading in the future.

Oh, but I have strayed from the point at hand... I love it! smile

thanks, and that would be a good idea. i'm doing this for a neighborhood filled with people who don't use the net that much, so i had to come up with something that might help em ease into it. i'm sure there's a little more tweaking to be done.

the cookie idea is good, too. i don't like having to pull that page up everytime i visit.

anyone else have any opinions?

The banner link to your homepage opens in the main frame, therefore you have two left frames when you click on it.

Just an FYI, everything else looks pretty sharp, though.

As a finicky web designer, I recommend splitting your verbiage into two columns. I personally think it's much easier on the eyes to read columns that are roughly 300 pixels wide vs. 600 or 100%. Left justifying your text would allow it to flow better as well.
