Several members have been affected by our local cable provider no longer providing DSL internet service in their area. So their email accounts xxxxx@comcast.com will go inactive at the end of the month. Is there a way for these members to change their email addys and retain their screen names and karma?

The answer to this is yes. The steps you take to do so depend on whether or not your community is in the Groupee network. You can usually verify this by whether or not your login/join link has a "Groupee" logo next to it. Or, if the login/join link eventually takes you to a URL that has account.groupee.com in the path. If you determine you do have a community that uses the Groupee login, just use the steps below. If you aren't sure, just reply with the URL of your community and we can check it out for you. These steps are written for the user, so you can just copy and paste them. CHANGING YOUR LOGIN INFORMATION 1) Go to http://eve.groupee.com/account.php 2) Choose "Groupee Personal Account" and sign in with your old email address and password combination. 3) Enter your new email address in the "Groupee Email" and "Confirm Email" sections. 4) Enter your password in the "Password (6 Character Minimum)" and "Confirm Password" fields. You can either retype your old password, or pick a new one. 5) Click "Submit". 6) If everything has gone well, you will not be given a confirmation message. The only change you may see on the page will be an error message if there was a problem, or a message stating your email address will need to be verified. This is done through a verification email sent to the new email address. Again, if you are unsure about whether or not your community uses the Groupee Network Login, just respond with its URL and we'll be able to tell you. Thanks for reading! Paul Gude Groupee Guide |
