In the mid afternoon Pacific time the /2 Shang and /3 Zhou clusters suffered a serious storage array problem which took down the servers and corrupted some important database tables.

During the process of bringing backup systems online there were also intermittent outages for the /1 Aztec and /4 Maya clusters; though these were brief in comparison to the Shang/Zhou outage.

Our DBA recommended a restore from today's earlier hot backup and transaction logs and this has been completed. The Ops teams will be working with vendors to diagnose the failed components in detail and replace them with other equipment.

We apologize to you and your community for this long downtime and loss of service. We value every one of our communities and realize that in this instance service has been far below what you should count on from Infopop.
