The /2 Shang upgrade has completed the database revision for all sites in the cluster. Small to mid-sized site should be back online now.
However, larger sites require more processing and will come back online as completed.

We apologize for the delay in getting this upgrade done within our stated maintenance window.

We are still processing the update for certain, larger sites. Affected are:

http://messages.cruisecritic.com
http://chronofhorse.infopop.net
http://theprescription.infopop.net
http://trucknet.infopop.net
http://uplink.space.com
http://daggers.infopop.net
http://sound-on-sound2.infopop.net

We have an interim version of the app that permits it to operate while the last change is being made. However, certain tasks (mostly admin tasks wont' be available).

You'll know you are running on the temporary code with certain functions disabled if you see '/CleopatraShang' in your URLs.

Please email me at peter at infopop dot. com if you have any problems (or post here).

Looks like we have things in hand with all /2 Shang sites functioning normally. Please post here if you notice abnormalities related to the upgrade.

Again our thanks for your patience during the upgrade.

I confess to sticky'ing it, you all can unsticky it if you like (you're a mod there, right?). Maybe you can sticky'ise the 'search thread' instead...

mod? nope. not a single blasted power. (not that I haven't volunteered) It's all the more ironic that way though. I do have the respect of the mods on board software and bugs issues

all my research into the quote tag and blockquotes was done as a normal poster. and this is a result.

someone destickied it though. (finally)

We'd like to do some more updates this weekend (there is a good chance /1 Aztec would get the update). However we'd also like to keep an eye on things here (the /2 Shang cluster) and make extra sure there are no problems before we announce those updates.

So... You'll either get an announcement from us in the next day or two for this weekend or we'll be looking at doing the update on an upcoming weekend.

Hi there,

now we have beginning of october and there are no news about upgrading other clusters. I'm wondering when the /3 Zhou cluster will be updated.
Any schedule available?

Hi Ulrike. We've been talking about doing an update this Friday night. We've yet to confirm that, however, and when we do we'll send out an email to let everyone know.

These rollouts are taking a while so that a) we can spot and fix any bugs b) tune any performance issues we run into and c) speed up the update process.

On that last point over the last few days we've made some changes that will result in several hours fewer downtime during the update. So hopefully that alone will make the wait worthwhile.

Cheers, Peter

Peter,

that is fine with me. I changed our stylesheets on the demo server (already running with 2.3.0) heavily and would have had to change all the stylesheets on /3 Zhou accordingly. But with a schedule within days I will wait and use the new stylesheets.

Good luck for the upgrade :-))
