When
We'll be the 2.2.0 release on the /2 Shang cluster on Monday. Most likely in the evening our time.

Outages?
The 2.2.0 release on our beta cluster went quite smoothly with only about a half hour's service unavailability. I'm hopeful it will go just as well on /2 Shang (which is the cluster this site is running on BTW: we want to eat some of our own dogfood).

Minimizing End User Impact Out of the Gate
To minimize the initial impact by default you'll keep your existing stylesheets.

These don't have some of the new end user features in them.

You can easily switch to the new stylesheet/features by going to sitewide display and changing the XFace from Infopop Default I to Infopop Default II.

This may be useful if you want to coincide the new features with an announcement in your community.

Other Clusters
The 2.2.0 release to other clusters will be scheduled as we go (i.e. next week) so as to make the rollout as troublefree and straightforward as we can get it.

Hello jern -- If my memory serves me correctly you are on the Aztec /1 cluster. You can confirm by going to your control apanel 'Status and Summary' page. It will be listed in bold in the system news section of the page.

You can determine which cluster you are on by looking at your URL.

The cluster is the number after your domain as follows:

/0 Egypt (our beta cluster)
/1 Aztec
/2 Shang
/3 Zhou
/4 Maya
/5 Mali
/6 Masai

E.g. this site's URL is: http://community.infopop.net/6/ubb.x?a=cfrm

We are therefore on the /2 Shang cluster.

Because that was posted last week, it means this week (April 15-20th).

However, that said: the schedule will be adjusted based on whether we find any problems or not. You wouldn't want us to keep to a schedule if we find issues, now would you wink

If we don't find any problems, I'd hope we'd get most clusters done this week.

OK. And we're back.

11:25 Servlet Engines stopped and update commences
12:15 Servlet Engines started back up

I'm looking around trying to find problems. If anyone notices anything a bit off, please let us know (here or in the bug reports forum).

Thanks.

Hey RJ,

Good eyes. On our community forums, we are now using the new 2.2 stylesheets, which uses CSS. This would account for the differences you are seeing in the fonts. By default, the stylesheet will use CSS fonts set in percentages. However, in your style settings, you can set the font in pixels (px), points (pt), ems (em), percentages (%), absolute or relative names (small, smaller, large, larger), or use the standard font tag sizes like 1 and 2. The stylesheet will figure out how to render the fonts.

In addition, if you want to customize more than just the font size of your CSS, you can opt to exclude the standard OpenTopic CSS from the stylesheets. If you do this, you will have to insert new CSS via the HEAD tag field on your style settings. This is where CSS becomes really powerful because it can essentially give you full control over your site (especially when you work those CSS changes in with stylesheet customizations).

This is probably more info than you were looking for, but hopefully it will help others with similar questions smile
