We're working on fixing an Oracle problem right now.

9am BST (I guess take away about 8 hrs to get PDT).

AS per this time yesterday, the board is down

"The OpenTopic™ service that powers this Community is momentarily unavailable. The Infopop System Administrators have been notified about the problem and are working to correct it."

Board is up, has been up now for about 3 hrs however you cannot start a new topic or reply to a post. V.annoying!

Hi Marc. Please accept my apologies on this one. We had the same problem as last night, and we didn't get the sites back up and running as quickly as we could have.

FWIW: we think the cause of this problem is an Oracle 'statistics' job we run nightly. We've changed this to run only on Monday mornings. And we've got better procedures in place now for detecting the problem (an Oracle bug as best we can tell) and getting sites back up and running.
