We're pleased to present a new version of OpenTopic™ community software to all customers. All upgrades are performed automatically and new features are available in the control panel.

New Additions include:

Content Islands
This new control panel wizard will create content islands you can cut and paste on any HTML page. Embed featured messages, community, statistics, a featured poll or a recent members welcome.
Instant Topic
A simple URL plus your unique identifier can create topics on the fly from any web page or even an email. Let the discussion begin even before a visitor clicks an OpenTopic™ page.
Hidden Forums
A forum can be completely hidden from community navigation allowing truly secret forums the public cannot see.
Site Events Tracking
For communities with many moderators, this feature logs all administrative activity for easy review.

To go along with these new features there is a completely new Administrators Guide available from the Infopop Support Pages.

Look as well for dozens of small improvements to the control of the OpenTopic™ application:

New display options include:
· the ability to hide ratings until after a certain number of ratings have been made
· the ability to hide a forum from your categories and forum page (and “hop-to” navigation). This enables “secret forums” for all those private moderator-only discussions...
· an option to prevent people replying to topics that have been inactive for a given period.
· an option to control which member profile fields show on the topic thread page.
· an option to hide the reply with quote button.

No -- there's nothing you need do. We're rolling out 2.1 by cluster starting with Maya the /3. By the end of the weekend at the latest you will have the stealth forums, instant topics and content islands.
