There was a thread about this before, but I had further questions.
I now know it's possible for different people to have the same IP address. I guess this happens randomly. But I've noticed that with some of the users on the board I'm managing, when I look up their IP addresses, the same 50-60 usernames come up every time. Can it still be possible that they are all different people? Their domains (aol, yahoo, etc.) are different too. Or is it more likely that these people like to keep 50 different aliases and talk to themselves? |

Its likely that you will get several users who have the same IP. Basically anyone who accesses your site through a Proxy/Firewall will likely appear to come from the same IP.
Also Libraries or schools will probably appear as the same IP. And then you have a public place with multiple machines that all seem to be from the same IP. Does that make sense? 50 Users from the same IP seems a bit high. But you get a business of moderate size that likes your site and its explained. Jonmark Weber Technology Group Infopop Corporation |

you can check the ip out.
my favorite is www.arin.net/whois/ plug in the ip address(es) and you can find out who has usage of them. a big company likely gives one ip/machine, whereas aol is the exact opposite |
