Take a look at the 7th posting in this topic:
http://messages.cruisecritic.com/2/OpenTopic?a=tpc&s=927093444&f=7563091196&m=4933072607 Note the user name is not clicable. Note no registration information at the bottom. Note, also, there is NO joebat2 in our database of registered users. This worries me. We don't allow posting w/o registration. Hi Laura,
I took a quick look at your XML for that page. Indeed, that user who posted is a guest. I also noticed, however, that your post topic/reply security for that forum is set to guest so that any guest will be able to post in that forum. I recommend going to the forum settings page for that forum and double checking your settings. It appears to me that you should just need to change the "Who Can Post Topics?" and "Who Can Post Replies?" rights to "Any registered user" and guests will no longer be able to post to the forum. Give that a shot and let me know how it goes Regards, Brian Lenz Infopop Corporation |

Thanks, Brian. That was a fairly new forum and I wasn't careful in setting up the settings.
WHile I was in there, I noticed a setting for "Who Can Add Message Alerts?". Tell me, what is a Message Alert??? Laura My Communities: http://messages.cruisecritic.com and http://messages.independenttraveler.com |

The message alert is a new feature with 3.0. It is the little yellow caution sign. It allows user to report a post for review.
