I'm seeing this when trying to access my site:

Word searching is disabled while maintenance is taking place.

can't get any further than that - nothing is working! I take it my my site is still being worked on???? I can only assume this, as I see that this forum and others on Shang /2 are accessible.

Does it really take such a lot of time to email or call to advice me, the customer, what the hell is going!

Anyway, please advise asap.

We are sorry this is taking as long as it is. You've noticed the up and down times on Shang lately, of course and there are news items about it posted at OpenTopic System Status Alerts. When the server goes down our first priority is to bring it back and this takes precedence over just about anything else including the rebuild of the search tables. We're pretty sure customers will want basic posting functions restored before search.

The rebuild of the search table has been halted several times during the recent instability -- we're sorry that this has added to the rebuild time. We continue to process on an ASAP timeframe.

A very good idea for more specific updates is to enter a trouble ticket at https://www.infopop.com/q/q.php?action=pool_query&num=21 That way you can be sure that a query doesn't end up lost in someone's email box on a busy day!

Thanks Michael....but what I'm saying is, all I get when I try and access my Forum is that message about word searching being disabled - I can't get to the Category & Forms page - I see nothing but that error message.

I opened a trouble ticket earlier this morning, asking for a timeframe when all this was going to be done, but all I got back was nothing more than I've seen here.

If it's going to be 36 hours, then tell me! But not getting an useful info, is what's making it annoying.

As I write this my forum is currently unusable, all I'm asking for is an ETA.

Email is fine if you prefer or an update to the ticket (1047666033-BJFT2).

We have had spott coverag during the day, but as of right now your forum is up, and it has been up for a while.

Thanks Barry....and yes, I am now able to get to my site and do things - but just so you know, that error message I listed above, is all I was able to see for close to 2 hours any nothing else!

It wasn't that I couldn't search....I couldn't do anything beyond stare at that message!!

Anyway, thanks again for the update. My only other issue right now is my Featured Message Content Island which is intermittently working.

Not sure why that would happen. The search message is very specific and only returned when trying to da a search. We will try to get all your problems solved.
