When I go into our OpenTopic home page (http://astrac.atinfopop.com/4/OpenTopic?a=cfrm&s=7094090181) all the font information and formatting has been lost.

I noticed this on our forums (http://messages.cruisecritic.com) last evening about 8pm ET too. All seems ok now.

We're having the same problem - just blank white backgrounds with default times roman font and no dhtml menus. When I try to clear the cache I just get an error message saying page not available.
I'm sure this is all related to the original move but I'm really starting to lose patience with this now as it's been going on for about a week and is doing our image alot of harm!! |

Hello -
Dave's site is on the Maya /4 cluster which is one that did *not* move and has not been subject to the problems seen by the /2 and /3 cluster. So Laura and Roberto -- this one isn't quite the same. When the formatting 'disappears' it is because the CSS file which also comes from a the database is unavailable for some reason. Normally it is cached for long periods of time *in the browser* so you can take comfort in the fact that likely the missing format is affecting you only not the whole community. To clear up the problem - *don't* clear the cache in your OpenTopic site. This will not help and can even extend the problem. Instead try these two things. 1) Clear the cache *in your browser* and then close down all browser windows and restart. Test. 2) Go into you style control panel and simply save the settings without change. This will clear some local server cache and force a reset of the CSS file. Clearing the cache fixed it.
btw - in IE6 there is no reference to 'cache' - rather it refers to 'Deleting temporary internet files' which I took to be the same thing - a question of terminolgy. |

I was seeing this smae behavior last night at home here on community.infopop.net It's real odd. I'm using IE 6 SP 1 on XP.
It was odd. I cleared my local cache and it didn't cure the issue there. I'll check it more this afternoon and post back. --------------------- Suite Madame Blue....Gaze in your looking glass..you're not a child any more! TheGeeksInc.com Forums |

Hi Ron. After you delete those temporary internet files in IE, be sure to *close* all instances of the IE browser and re-open them. That will force a new request for CSS to the server. Michael Farris Infopop Product Evangelist |
