I remember in my IRC days that you could make a very effective ban by using the part of someones (unique) IP address that never changes and replace the changing part with a *
Will this work on the eve as well?
example if someones ip is 11.22.33.567 and the last 3 digits are the ones that change you could put in your ban list the following 11.22.33.* So that if the person logs of and back on he could not get back in channel even if his IP did change a bit.
This only works with some peoples IP's though, since some are static and you can ban an innocent person if you use it wrong. Just trying to get rid of a repeating pest.
Any advice will be greatly welcomed Smile

I am sure that I will be corrected if I am wrong here, but you should be able to do class C bans by doing either what you mentioned or just listing the IP out as far as you want it to match:

11.22.33

Though I am not 100% on this, so you may want to run a couple of tests. The latest code shouldnt let you ban yourself if you are an administrator Big Grin

EG: The ban will be there, but it wont catch you as long as you are a admin, but other members from that IP block who arent admins are caught by it.
