When I do a search on this users profile, I can find it with his username, but if I put in the e-mail address directly from his profile, to do a search that way absolutely nothing.

It keeps telling him he doesn't exist, but when he tries to re-register, it says someone already uses that email address. Any suggestions?

If you are putting the e-mail address in the exact same way it was typed into the profile in the e-mail search part of the member filter you should be finding the user, and if the e-mail is not there the user shuld be able to register.
