I am interested in groupee, but because you don't really get a lot of bandwidth or disk space for the money, I need to have my site hosted on another server. Can I set up groupee to run off a subdomain so that it appears that it is on my site. I am already disappointed that my users from my phpbb board will have to get a groupee login and am trying to give myself a reason to actually make the switch.

I would really like to use groupee because they do the updates for me, but i really need to keep the domain name the same as my site.

Yes, you can host only your community with us if you like, using either a subdomain of your site (e.g. forums.yoursite.com), or our subdomain (yoursite.groupee.net).

Does someone point me in the right direction with what changes need to be made when I buy the plan?

Also, how long does it normally take to set up the community platform, import the data and get it ready so i can spend some hours configuring the site?

We'll get you all the information you need when you sign up with us. I would recommend putting in a support ticket at the time of your purchase, since that's how we'll work with you on the import.

As far as a timeframe, your site will probably be built the same day you place the order. The import, however, might take a little time, and will certainly have to be scheduled. We'll cover that with you when you put in your ticket.

ok, my issue is that i have the forum set up on my old hosting account using the domain name.

I am running a site based on the IP address until all the changes are made and once everything (basically waiting on a forum to be installed) is up and running, I will make the DNS changes to point to the new server.

I think I am banking on too much stuff to go right before the new site goes live...
