I have an eve forum with info pop!
I am bit scared to ajust any of the settings incase i pull the whole thing down.

Some of the newer forums i have joined look fantastic have lots of things you can do.

Looking at myn now its looking very boring and basic.

I Have read as much documentation as i can understand for the time being.

My question is how much can you modify on the UBB eve? can you get new skins for the forum?

I apreciate this has probably all be asked before, I havent realy got time at the moment to read every topic, so appologies now!

Also is there a way of moding the whole look of the forum or is it stuck how it is with only colour changes and the import of the odd graphic?

Finally what script is used? and is it easy to implement? I am confident with some code .
I realy havent a clue where to start, there are so many threads forums, technical stuff, i realy need some basic pointers to head off in the right direction.

Or is it a none starter making it look very swish?

Would realy appreciate any pointers or help.

I have had my forum for three years now and have mastered most of the basic settings, but still many things i dont have a clue what they refer to.

Hi Andrew - what exactly are you wanting to do with your board? Can you provide any examples? There are a lot of different things you can do without extensive modifications, but it really depends on what you have in mind for your site.

I would just like my site to look more exciting more 3d, i am sure there is some things you can do to make it more apealing.

Not sure if my forum is backed up incase i mess it up.

I dont know if there is a site where you can get upgrades or new skins, like i said i havent a clue realy.

I work in the UK TV and want the forum to look better than it is if possible.

On my forum you have to sign up and be manualy approved, if you have time you could look at what i am getting at hopefully lol

Hi Andrew - I signed up on your forum, so as soon as I'm approved, I'd be happy to have a look at it. I checked out the other sites you mentioned, and I noticed that they're using Invision boards. Apparently they have different skins you can download to change the look of your board. We don't have skins - our boards are pretty much unlimited in what you can do with colors, fonts, and adding in your own html, but it does take some work to change things a bit at a time. You had a good idea when you mentioned backing up your board. In case you need to know how to do it - just go to your web hosting control panel (the one that ends in /config or :2222) and click on "Site Backup". Make sure the boxes next to everything you want to back up are checked, then click on "Create Backup". It's always a good idea to have a back up, just in case! Anyway, it's easy to reverse changes you make to the look of your board, so I wouldn't worry too much about experimenting. Just make sure that you create a new style (it can be based on your existing style) so that you can easily go back to your current one if you don't like the changes you made. Just an idea - if you see something you really like on someone else's site, check out the source code for that page and see if you can figure out how they did it. Hope some of that helps!

Hi Andrew - how about some pictures on the forum page, or maybe some new icons? You'd be surprised what a difference a few small changes can make! The colors in general are good, but I think the intro would look better in the bright blue (in bold letters) rather than aqua. In my humble opinion, a picture or banner at the top of the page would look great. If you need a resource for modifications, you might try one or more of the following:
