If a forum set to no premission for reply, the reply button should be removed. At least the Quick Reply one is a must.

Few customers complaint to me that after they use the quick reply button to type a very long post and when they press the submit button, it display the error message, and all the things they typed need to type it again!

BTW, UBB.x always display all the links even the member don't have that premission, like those in MySpace.

Is that really impossibile to remove those links base on premission?? I don't think so, if other board can do it, I am sure Infopop can do it as well!!!

No, it's not impossible... But I do think there's some reasoning behind it... What I've noticed is that many administrators use the ability to reply - along with other options like those you noted in MySpace (e.g. Private Messages) - as features available to premium group members, and by displaying a permissions error instead of just hiding the feature altogether, the admin is able to 'tell' his members that there are more options out there, if they'd like to subscribe... It's advertising, if you will...

I don't know that this was the exact reasoning our team used when they designed this - and I'm not saying it won't be changed - it's just my take on things!
