As mods it would be nice to give them the option of subscribing to a first post by new members. The rationale is that for us first posts tend to either be: (1) Trouble that we need to deal with (spammer, returning member starting , etc.), or (2) newbie who is tentative/needs help (who may even have posted in the wrong place). Both of those cases are things that our mods would like to be alerted about quickly.
