When a user clicks a link in a content island he or she is brought to the latest post in a threaded discussion. We think that is disorienting.

Alternatives in the past seem to have been based on a choice between linking to the very FIRST post in a long thread and linking to the very LATEST post in a long thread.

We propose linking to the top of the latest PAGE. For one thing, it presents the user with the page header. Second, it keeps them on the newer content.

It seems intuitive to us to direct users to content that is not so old, but not so new as to be devoid of context.

What do other experienced Eve community owners think of this idea?

In other words, when a newcomer to a discussion clicks on a content island link and is taken to the very latest post, he or she is automatically anchored down at the bottom of the page. Without scrolling up, he or she may have no clue what the context of the disucssion is.

Linking to the latest page would present the same problem in situations where the latest post is the first post on a new page, but, on average, it should be preferable to link to the top of a whole page.
