I am suddenly seeing an Apache notice here: http://forums.virtualmechanics.com/

This has been running fine for years. It is suppose to be defaulting to here: http://virtualmechanics.infopop.cc/6/ubb.x

What has been changed, how do I get it fixed???

Hi, Derry:

We are currently undergoing a reorganization of our IP addresses. You will need to update the DNS record for forums.virtualmechanics.com to point to 63.251.8.249.

We contacted customers who host their own DNS prior to re-assigning IP addresses, however, because this is a domain pointer and your community's main address is an infopop.cc subdomain, it looks like you weren't on the contact list.

If you have any questions, let me know.

If you would rather, you can choose to delegate forums.virtualmechanics.com to our name servers (ns1.infopop.cc and ns2.infopop.cc) instead of providing an A record. That way, if your community's IP address ever changes again we will be able to update the records for you.

Note that delegating a subdomain to our name servers is not the same as changing your domain's name servers to ours.

I took a look at WHOIS and it looks like Pair Networks (pair.com) is managing your DNS. You will need to contact them about updating your DNS record. They may provide a web interface for you to do it, I'm not sure.

Feel free to provide them a link to this topic if you would like.

OK, to expidite things I changed the A-Record to:

Custom DNS Entries for at Pair to: virtualmechanics.com
A Record forums IN A 63.251.8.249

It is not working as yet - does this take time to propagate?

Derry, we have a ticket here from a Mr. White that we are also working on that requires something be done on our end.

In the mean time http://virtualmechanics.infopop.cc/6/ubb.x still, works and has always been working.
