I visit a forum using groupee/infopop software.

Their "topic row limit" allows only 50 topics to be viewed at one time.

I have seen forum software that allows you to select from a menu 50, 100, 150 and 200 "topics" on just one page.

Does the groupee/infopop forum software have an "upgrade" that will allow an existing forum to increase (or, make selectible)the number of the "topic row limit".

There's no 'upgrade' necessary. This is an administrative setting that is made in the Control Panel. I believe the default is 50, but the Admin can certainly increase that.

Thank you very much for your prompt response, regarding my question of increasing the "Topic Row Limit" of groupee/infopop forum software.

There has been a forum post explaining why some "posts" can not be found...   when, in reality, these "posts" were demoted (if that's the appropriate term) to a 2nd or 3rd page of the forum postings.

As the OGR Forum is an extremely active forum, it is understandable that one can assume that a particular post has "disappeared", when, in reality, it has been subjugated to a lesser page.

I'm pleased to know that the Groupee/Infopop software will allow the OGR Administrator to increase the "Topic Row Limit" to a maximum of 200 rows, to allow the viewing of an approximate of 2-3 days of forum posts...   all in one page.

... that's odd, since the OGR Forum Moderators say   "It isn't".




It would be most benificial to know the definitive answer to that question, since it would eliminate the necessity
of the OGR Administrator from posting this ............

Does the Groupee/Infopop website have a webpage that lists all of the features of your Forum Software?

Is there a specific page (or manuel) that indicates that the "Topic Row Limit" default is "50"... but, can be increased, either by the Forum Administrator, or by the "forum user", from a drop down menu, where one can choose from either 50, 100, 150 or 200 topics, viewable on one page.

Thank you for any additional information you can provide, or website references that you can refer me to.

Apparently, the Groupee / Infopop Forum Software will not allow an individual user to personally choose between 50, 100, 150 or 200 "topic rows" per web page.

   

The "Topic Row Limit" is a "global" setting that affects everyone viewing the forum.

Due to this limitation, the OGR Forum Administrator's are forced into a compromise...

a. irritating those who think their post was deleted (when, in reality, it exists on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th page... etc. etc.)

and

b. satisfying those viewers with slower dialup connections to the Internet...   where the "Topic Row Limit" of 50, will be shown much quicker than 100, 150 or 200.


SUGGESTION TO GROUPEE / INFOPOP FORUM SOFTWARE:

Please offer an "upgrade" to your current Forum Software, that will allow the "individual user" to select his/her own "topic rows" per web page... either 50, 100, 150 or 200.

This feature will benefit all Forum users, whether they have a dialup or faster Internet connection.

I look forward to seeing this additional feature, soon!!
